Gundersen Hotel & Suites

The breakfast was very good. The coffee on Sunday was exceptional. Also, on Sunday, we saw the gentleman that was in charge of the breakfast area offer a high chair to a man for his young son. The child was not at a good height for the table. The man/father said no. The employee put the high chair back. He then brought a booster seat for the child. (I do not know if the father said ok to the booster seat or not.) He picked up the child and placed him in the booster seat. He proceeded to move the table closer to the child. The child had the biggest smile on his face. He was now able to eat comfortably. A short time later, I went in the area by the food. The gentleman/eployee asked me how the food was. I told him good, however the coffee was exceptional. He said it’s easy to make coffee. I told him not for me! We continued talking a little more. Very nice gentleman. It was so nice that pets were accepted. My daughter has a dog. If we were unable to take him along, she wld have had a very difficult time finding someone to take him. We came to La Crosse to see my grandson. The hotel accepting pets made the trip much less stressful. Thank you.

I stayed for a night for various reasons and was pleasantly surprised at how accommodating this hotel is. The staff were polite and respectful while also being human and able to joke around with us. The room was incredibly clean cozy, heat and air worked great, bathroom was a good size and there was a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee pot. The bed was one of the more comfortable hotel beds I have slept in, and it was quiet. Of all the hotels I have been to in La Crosse this one has been one of the best, I look forward to staying there again when I need to next. Thank you for your hospitality.

One of us was on a supported cross-country bike trip and the other was driving along to sightsee. In Sioux Falls, we tested positive for Covid-19 and wanted to isolate in a hotel where we could stay comfortably for several days. The Gunderson was on the upcoming itinerary and offered several days stay at a very reasonable price (the tour leader said that hotels near hospitals, which this one is, are often lower priced than others in a city). The room was clean, comfortable, and had a refrigerator, microwave, and good TV, which were what we needed. We appreciated all these amenities, and enjoyed our stay as much as anyone can while recovering from Covid-19.

ROBERT!!! He saved the day for me!! His customer service skills are exceptional! He was SO helpful, and was personable and funny while being professional and a great representative for your business.

A modern, clean and comfortable hotel with a good sized room and bathroom. It had a large car park which was free. The facilities were as listed but I'd expect a quality hotel to have room safes as standard. Unexciting decor. I'm afraid I don't get how this hotel has been marked as 'fabulous' though.
